Hello! I’m Emily, the creator behind Whisper In Wax.
Raised in Horahora and now based in Tauranga, I pour wax and blend scents for the daydreamers, and creative souls who crave a little whimsy in the everyday.
I've been making candles and all things scented since 2019, and started my original small business in 2020, Whisper In Wax is a re-brand of sorts and is really just my way of projecting my own interests and hobbies on other kindred spirits.
I believe scent can hold memories and trigger emotion, it can be associated with anything really, and I try my best to match scents to the themes and media I get my inspiration from.
A typical day working on Whisper In Wax will find me blaring metal music (disturbing the peace of my neighborhood) while finding calm in the task of pouring wax. I really do find it has always helped as a stress/anxiety outlet for me and it's probably the part I enjoy the most. Plus my home smells amazing at all times which is an added bonus.
